Welcome

Welcome to Soul Matters Counselling & Psychotherapy.

For growth, self-understanding, and support that meets you where you are.

Hello, I’m Jenny. I created Soul Matters Counselling & Psychotherapy as a space where you can feel safe, seen, and supported, whatever brings you here.

I offer online and telephone counselling to adults across the UK, providing a flexible and accessible way to access therapy from wherever you feel most comfortable.

Whether you’re feeling overwhelmed, struggling with anxiety or low mood, living with a long-term condition, or simply wanting to understand yourself more deeply, you’re not alone.

Living with chronic illness or disability can sometimes mean feeling misunderstood, judged, or excluded by services that struggle to accommodate the realities of fluctuating health. Flare-ups, fatigue, medical appointments, and changing symptoms can all affect day-to-day life and make predictability difficult. I am committed to offering a practice that is compassionate, affirming, and responsive to these realities.

You can learn more about my approach to supporting people living with chronic illness and long-term health conditions here:

We are all made up of many different parts, some we show to the world, and others we keep hidden or push away. These hidden parts may carry pain, confusion, or behaviours that feel difficult or confusing to make sense of.  Together, we can connect with these parts, so you can begin to view your whole self with compassion, curiosity, and greater understanding.

Searching for the right support can feel daunting, and with so many choices, it’s easy to feel stuck or unsure who to trust. My aim is to keep things simple and reassuring: offering a confidential, warm, and non-judgmental space where you can talk freely and feel truly heard. I provide consistent guidance as we move at a pace that feels right for you, creating space to reflect, explore, and deepen your self-awareness.

And if we discover that we’re not the right fit, that’s absolutely fine – what genuinely matters most is that you find someone you feel safe and connected with. Your wellbeing is always the priority.

What is Counselling & Psychotherapy?

Counselling and Psychotherapy are talking therapies that help you explore emotional challenges, develop insight, and move toward meaningful change.

  • Counselling often focuses on present-day concerns like stress, loss, or relationships, and helps build coping strategies and new perspectives.
  • Psychotherapy may be longer-term and look deeper, exploring past experiences and patterns that shape your present.

Both approaches centre around creating a trusting relationship where you feel understood and empowered.

Why Soul Matters?

I chose the name Soul Matters because it reflects both what I offer and what I believe.

The deeper, more personal aspects of our lives, our feelings, values, relationships, and inner experiences are often the ones we carry quietly. These are the matters of the soul, and they deserve time, care, and space to be explored.

At the same time, who you are, beneath the surface, beyond expectations or past experiences, has value and meaning. This work is about making space for that part of you to be seen, understood, and supported in a way that feels authentic to you.

Because your SOUL matters.

I’m a registered member of the BACP (Brithish Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy) and work within their ethical framework, which means I am committed to working responsibly and with professional accountability.

Confidentiality is a core part of the work we do together. What you share with me in sessions will be treated with the utmost care and kept private wherever possible.
